We invite you to the 3rd edition of “NARM DAY” an online training taking place on May 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM (with a lunch break from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM). The workshop will be led by Dr. med. Beate Leisse – psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and NARM™ teacher.
This training will focus on narcissism from the perspective of NARM™, offering an opportunity to deepen participants’ understanding of narcissism as a dynamic adaptive strategy that develops in response to early relational trauma.
During the workshop, we will explore the following topics and reflect on their clinical relevance:
- How a narcissistic organization of experience develops in response to neglect, shaming, or excessive expectations from caregivers..
- The relational dimension of narcissism — including difficulties with intimacy, dependency, and mutuality.
- The role of chronic shame within narcissistic structures and ways of working with it in the therapeutic relationship.
- Transference and countertransference — the specific therapeutic dynamics involved in working with clients who rely on strong narcissistic strategies.
- How to support the development of agency, responsibility, and contact with authentic experience without reinforcing defenses or inducing shame.
- How to recognize the developmental potential embedded within narcissistic structures.
